Olde Coney wrote:contribution towards members costs is something that we should most definitely do, the club can afford it and it would help towards costs incurred when travelling to, and transporting bikes to some of the more distant events/rallies..
This is a policy that has been implemented by the VJMC for some years
It doesnt mean that substantial sums need to be paid out but some contribution towards costs would definitely encourage members to travel and therefore help to promote the KTC.
The club did used to pay a petrol money some years ago, based on mileage

Just read this thread, don't be too shocked, I won't be in the country for this years Stafford show.
So consequently it was of no interest to me, until I read the club mag..
For years I have worked weekends, so doing Stafford is nearly always impossible, anyway I have changed jobs and now don't work weekends (except when I want some overtime)
I have spoken to my other half and despite her not liking the idea (because I'll get stressed out, which I will) I am putting my name forward for this post, after all if I can organise a gig in a night club, which incidentally involves hotels, flights, equipment and a lot more than you could possibly think was needed, then getting some bikes to an exhibition hall can't be that hard can it?
Oh and as a foot note we have had used bikes on the stand at Stafford before, when we showed the bikes that where ridden around the isle of man for the TT, I think it worked very well

This Gary is the current position see top thread page three.
The biggest issue with this events organiser position is
storing the Club gear.Nick had taken on the position on the basis that someone else was storing and bringing the gear to Stafford. At this point in time there is not
"another" person bringing the gear to Stafford in 2017.Farmer John is helping out this year but I do not know at this time what is going to happen to the club stand gear for 2017.
Things fell apart this year for various reasons that I am not putting on the forum (you can ask me at the show) and subsequently I have had to take over the reins to sort the show, with some great help from Sam.
Obviously this was not what I wanted but if i didnt pick up the reins the show would not go on!!!! LOL

Hi Mark B.,
My mate Keith and I are coming up from Kent to the show next w/e and we're staying at the Hurricane. Am I right in thinking you've booked / you're booking some tables at a curry house somewhere nearby? If so, can we join you?
Mark.
