Gerald has steped down as events secretary for the club after giving a years notice and as a result with no one stepping in to take his place there will be no club stand at Stafford this year and once we lose the spot thats it for good im afraid

This is pretty serious stuff! Have we been allocated a spot ? I acquired a spot for the April Show 20 Years ago, did it twice and lost it due to lack of interest and there is now a L O N G waiting list to get back in.

We REALLY need to keep this slot or as Malc says it will be lost forever . . come on guys lets work something out ?

We have till the end of next week to say yes to the spot BUT no one wants the responsibility of running it.
If they dont have our entry by friday then thats it for good Im afraid.

I thought we had the Events Secretary sorted.

I can do any paperwork necessary for this but as I am currently recovering from shoulder surgery at the moment can't do any lifting or carrying. I am also limited on storage space.

Even if it means getting the worst stand award, for a stand with one bike and a table with a few leaflets on it. We should be able to scrape something together at the last minute.
Doesn`t need carpet tiles and spotlights etc.

Just a Table, a Banner and a few smiley people present for at least half the time over the w/e.

I thibk you want to get an Extrordinary G.M. meeting together and put through a motion to PAY somebody to do the work.

( and yes, it`s all very well me spouting forth, but I`ll have my own stand and bikes etc at Show as a Business. So sorry unable to man the stand. But I can offer a couple of jocular Scots to help out with the humping. As My B in L and his mate are coming down for w/e )

I think we all post a lot on FB which gives more credibility for that page over this official site.
Looking back a couple of years the fuss over a new page was a bit pointless looking at the effect that FB has...

can come by the road with my H2A with Denco RR and so on and if I will do , i will need a room to sleep the friday evening, saturday and sunday evening (can afford hotel but no time to book one).
Can suggest to an other french (s), Alloallo for example and/or the other JP who comes now every year on the Southern and was on the Northern last year, to come by the road with their own K triples. In this case we will need hotel room for the gang for the 3 nights. We can pay but will be fine someone who knows the place find it for us.
Not the most gorgeous bike(s) but could be something special to have a stand with bikes coming by the road to Stafford (mine or others).
The good point with bikes coming by the road is Nick or someone else would have not to carry them.

My idea is coming by the road on friday, exposed the bikes on saturday and sunday as they will be: dirty and so on and come back to France on monday.
Of course will be better if some britts will be there (even w/o bikes) too to explain to the public what is the club and how to join it.
Anyway will need a native guide on the show even if we will do the best for the club with our pidgin english

I like the idea of "real world" bikes.

Stick an old tent in the background , prop Adew French bikes ( a.k.a. Hard ridden and road dirty

and bin the carpet tiles and spotlights. a few other bikes with Spannies , a knackered old nail,like Malc's H2C , and we can be the Club who claim to have started the backlash against the Trailer Queen over restored tarts handbags !!!

Bring it on. Get Nipper,up , wearing his old Denco T Shirt, with a glass of Jack in hand. Real Bikers rule !!!

I think Sandra still has a spare room booked, but you may have to sleep with Yogi - and the Club WILL PAY for your room JP! If you are willing to make that much effort then it is the least we can do. I'm not sure if I can get my Green card sorted out and attend, but I'll try to bring my H2c that I have now owned for nearly 40 Years . .
