It shouldn't have/wouldn't have originally....at least thats what I'm told  , the two carbs that are difficult to reach/tamper with should have thumbwheels. The outer carb, which is easily accesible, has no thumbwheel, so it can't be tampered with by any passing hooligan
Get you Roger! One minute you're happy for advice, now you're the freaking expert!

its finally up and running, even with the carbs the 'wrong way round',  and after fitting new exhaust gaskets, re-installing the exhaust inserts the right way round, freeing off a jammed float valve, and removing a head (just to check all was ok) and sorting the electrics (ta Keith), it eventually fired up.... :D :D
Soooo, Now I've just gotta sort out the registration docs which are somewhat 'lapsed' but they are all there, get her MOT'd and hit the open road

SIMPLES :P :P

cheers , for that guys, I have managed to get repro flasher unit which works fine for now, in fact they were so cheap I bought 3 :!: at.....

http://www.hard-to-find-parts.de/

I was wondering about G6s kits but wasn't sure if they have the same (large) size boots, which I think the H2 has (its not dismantled yet....is it the same caliper as the H1b :?: ) , I will have a chat with him later, I think he's in Anglesey with Higgsy this weekend

I took a short ride out on the H2 last night, now that its up and running (I couldn't wait any longer) and whilst she goes very well, albeit with some 'hunting' on the overrun, she doesn't stop too well ----aaaaaarghh------phew. Soooo some brake overhauling is required  which is only to be expected, and needed for the MOT

I checked Z-Power an wasn't able to find what I needed, but did get some rear shoes, so at least I'm part way there

And finally.. I'll check repro Decals ( I allus forget about them somehow) DOH

am trying to sort the overrun 'hunting' problem which would appear to be a matter of carb balance.

I'm reliably informed that a well tried method is to use lolly sticks to guage the slide lift, I didn't have any such sticks so I'm trying the same excercise with pegs.

At the meoment its lashing with rain here so I cant/wont road test

Your right Eric, I did try that method, but this way is a bit easier and more visual, mind you the proof of the pudding and all that

Will keep you posted about the outcome

Fingers are crap for this, as Rog says a visual method is far more accurate, you can even balance the stretch in the cables using lolly sticks/spoons or my favourites.. tywraps.

But don't forget to remove preferred items before trying to start her.

Something to look out for Rog... check the rubber gaskets under the screw cap on top of the carb, I'm reliably informed that a lack of those causes yours (and my) problem.

Cheers Gra, I'm fairly sure they're all there having recently had the carbs apart ...buuuuut. I'll double check, just to be sure

not got a pm Rog :? .... No big secret but i synchonise the slide heights from full throttle, this way you can feel the bottom of the slide when it is flush with the carb body.Set the slide to fully open on centre pot and lower or raise outers to suit.Piece of cake.Teaching you to suck eggs probably
