O sorry forgot to add,

If you want to try to put this together you need to pull the top where the single cable go in off, next make sure cable ends are not attached to anything so you can push the wire all the way through the main plastic body, on the end of the single main pull wire you will find a white splitter the you hook the three choke plunger cables onto, they sit in there own seat, the main pull cable runs through the middle of this white splitter.

Best of luck if you try fitting this and routing it through the frame without it popping again.

So I’ve fixed the choke cable by ‘plastic welding’ the nipples in the locator. No way they’ll come out now.
Anyways, onto the oil pump. Bought the special washers but as you can see the bolt isn’t long enough so luckily I’d also bought the standard alloy crush ones.

Got the carbs on and the choke cables in and routed only to realise I’ve bought the KH type cable with the wrong handlebar end
Just ordered a new one with the right end (RHS lever)
I feel such a dummy.

So today saw electrics finished , tank and side stand on . Lifted off stand onto its own 2 wheels.
But I have a really numpty question- how do I fit up the petrol pipes ? Please someone explain the pipe routing as I can’t see how the fuel splits into 3 … Only ever rebuilt singles…

Ah, I see yes. Just that all my pipes were long gone when I got my bike .
Get that on today and pipes cut to length.
Still waiting on a few bits now….

I never had a Kawasaki in the good old days - had a crappy Tiger Cub when I was 15 in 1970 then swiftly onto a BSA 250 when I turned 16 which I tuned up and went like a rocket but blew head gaskets every 10 minutes , then an Ariel 350 when I was 17 which I rebuilt from an old engine. Blew that up as well after fitting an MGA piston and so onto a brand new DT400 in black in ‘76 . Loved that bike but moved onto a 1yr old Ducati 500SS Desmo and then a GS1000 in ‘79 - boy could that fly especially with 9 stone rider and 7 1/2 stone g/friend - wheelies everywhere . Then a few Enduros over the years and then I caught the triple bug …. The rest is history - or will be

Ok so back to the questions…
Fitting front brake hoses and top part seems really short and has kinked ends. My bars are only 2” rise so virtually what the U.K. bikes had as standard. Can anyone tell me if what I’ve done is ok as it looks really odd.
Other than that all good, both throttle and choke cables on , still gotta set the cables up and the oil pump connection.

Hi Phil,

Looks ok to me, there looks to be a bit of slack just under the master cylinder as the pipe goes in over the light ear and as there is no movement between handle bars and bottom yoke so as long as they are done up and don't leak they will be fine

Hi , yes I’ve seen pics of that routing but my hoses have kinked banjos both ends so starting at the fork end I couldn’t spin the banjo over as they are steel braided hoses. So at the m/cyl end it kind of aims outwards ….
Having never seen another triple I’m going by a lot of pictures . Hoping to get up to the Peaks rally and get to see some other bikes ..

Hi Phil,

Yes agreed but just a note to be careful when you fit the tank on with your new paint job that the steel braid doesn't scratched your tank on full right hand lock, worth checking before filling and bleeding brake fluid.

Yeah went to check that today but found I couldn’t fit the tank with the fuel tap in so left till tomorrow.

You have the banjo on the master cylinder the wrong way round. Spin it through 180 degrees so it toes out. The hose should then go between the clocks and top of headlamp ears as you originally had it, but it looks a bit long.

Hi Tony. I can’t turn the banjo round in the m/cyl as it would then mean turning the one on the forks round and it won’t fit then. I did try it that way first but it just doesn’t fit due to the kinks at the banjos.

May be wrong, but I thought that you could still rotate the banjo ends within the pipes even on braided hoses.
I've done this before with hoses I've ordered from Hel.
