Rebuild 1973 350 S2A by Goalhanger Phil
Received my 1973 350 S2A on 28th September 2021. Probably paid too much but it caught my eye. It is a non runner with a few bits missing.
Not intending for it to be an as original rebuild but just how I’d like it to be.
I will try to post pictures but I tried earlier and I couldn’t get it to work.
Thanks
Phil

Plenty of work to do there - but that's half the fun
Once it is up and running properly you will be surprised how nifty it is. And how thirsty
I have the same but in orange and owned a blue one back in the mid 90's

Skipping on a few days and there’s only a few bits and the engine to remove. I’m trying to remove the barrels before taking the engine out but not sure it’s going to be possible.

Anyone know why my pictures are turning round when I post?
Also a bit of a pain reducing size of iPhone photos to load up. Keep having to mail them to myself….

Recommendations for a stove enameller in or near Essex for the frame etc? I am not keen on powder coating as i had it on a trials bike and water got under it and it lifted.
I will also need tank , panels etc painted , and possibly some chroming.
Thanks
Phil

The images simply needed rotating Phil.. Windows did it no problem.
Forums are for more orientated for PCs not really designed for phone access.. Tapatalk have tried that and look what a mess their Forums now are..
But you'll know a bit about S2s by the time you ride that one, keep us up to speed on how it goes.

I had an S1A that was in similar condition to that - engine wise, but its very rewarding when its done and you can tell yourself that you 'saved' a bike
. I would fit Higgspeeds and then that is one sourcing problem out the way. Don't forget the services section on this forum.

Thanks guys
I’m making lists of parts needing replacement and refurbishment and will take a look at the services section.
Getting engine out next and try to remove studs and barrels. Then strip to check crank which will likely need new bearings etc.

Thanks Wolfe, I’ve seen Gary’s name mentioned in the forums a few times
Got me some boxes today to start packing stuff so I have more room on the workbench for the engine.
Still undecided about frame stove enamelling or powder coating. I read up on both and both have their merits.
Powder coating place in Kent not so far away from me in Essex which may swing the vote.

So today, a couple of hours in the garage and clutch cover removed . Clutch plates off and oil pump. Engine out and on bench now ….
