Im busier now than ive ever been

All this talk of retirement.

Just started another major construction project, two years in Vietnam, and told my boss this is the last one. All the years I've been doing this and friends and family have always asked why I do it? Because I enjoy it. And when I stop enjoying it I'll stop doing it. Well I think that time has come, just too hard work.

Amen to that! June '15, I received a text at 8:30 at night telling me that I no longer had a job. I woke the next day and began to assemble my "call list" to secure another job....then at 11am, I had an epiphany, I did not NEED to go back to work. I was well set so I blew off going back to work. I took Kerry & a couple of bikes and headed out to Mid-Ohio like usual. Then upon returning I started and completed two other vintage bikes...generally loving life, taking my grown kids to lunch & dinner.

As the months wore on it began to change...Kerry who is many years younger was still working full time so she was no fun during the day....and six months later, I was going stir crazy.I had all the time and resources to do whatever I wanted but no desire to do anything! I happened to mention this to a friend over the Christmas holidays and he told another who told another....a week later....the very first working day of '16, I walked into my new office & began another chapter in my career.

The fact is, I love what I do...and that I'm paid for it makes it perfect for me...at least for now.
