All this talk of retirement.

Just started another major construction project, two years in Vietnam, and told my boss this is the last one. :) All the years I've been doing this and friends and family have always asked why I do it? Because I enjoy it. And when I stop enjoying it I'll stop doing it. Well I think that time has come, just too hard work. :smt015 :smt015 :smt015

Amen to that! June '15, I received a text at 8:30 at night telling me that I no longer had a job. I woke the next day and began to assemble my "call list" to secure another job....then at 11am, I had an epiphany, I did not NEED to go back to work. I was well set so I blew off going back to work. I took Kerry & a couple of bikes and headed out to Mid-Ohio like usual. Then upon returning I started and completed two other vintage bikes...generally loving life, taking my grown kids to lunch & dinner.

As the months wore on it began to change...Kerry who is many years younger was still working full time so she was no fun during the day....and six months later, I was going stir crazy.I had all the time and resources to do whatever I wanted but no desire to do anything! I happened to mention this to a friend over the Christmas holidays and he told another who told another....a week later....the very first working day of '16, I walked into my new office & began another chapter in my career.

The fact is, I love what I do...and that I'm paid for it makes it perfect for me...at least for now.
