He didn't ride it Graham, but as says in the article he bought it to give him something to occupy his mind while battling incurable prostate cancer.

To every club member, especially if your over 60, Get that prostate checked out by a simple blood test you can book with you doctor.
I did mine just over a year and half ago and had it redone 4 weeks ago and all is good.
The results were on my NHS phone App in 48 hours.
Its in a fairly easy to understand format but my daughter who was a nurse checked it and said Im as good as I can be at my age (67)
If caught in the earlier stages it is curable. If its left to late it spreads usually to the bones
It was Rog Ramm RIP who did an article on it in the club mag that made me have that first check.
You should be getting it checked every year to a year and a half. The NHS is free so use the service.

Sorry to hear Phil never got to ride the S2 :(

I had my Blood test earlier this year having taken the advice from Rog.. But I had to fookin really badger the Doctor to get it done.

Because I had no issues with my waterworks, the Doctor really didn't want to book it with the Medical staff...

Hi Malcolm,

This is Ed, Phil Roof's son. His article for restoring his S2A was published in September's issue of the Kawasaki triples.

Sadly, he passed away peacefully on Monday after his long fight with cancer. This was also the same day the September issue was delivered to my parent's house.

We would really like to gift copies of the issue to close friends and family as mementos. Do you have 5 spare copies of the September issue available or are you able to print more? We can cover the costs for printing/delivery.

Thank you to everyone on the forum supporting my dad through the rebuild of his S2A. Although he never got to ride it, it helped keep his mind busy during his fight.

I will look into posting something on the forum when I can as I recall he has a thread on his rebuild.

Many Thanks,
Ed

The club will of course be passing on some further copies of the club mag.
So so sad that Phil never got to see it as I know he was looking forward to seeing it all in print.
Malc

Oh no.... this is terrible news

My sincere condolences to Phil's family and friends

R.I.P Phil
