Valuation required for possible sale?

What value would everybody put on this 72 H2???
Due to lack of funds the owner is thinking of selling it after importing it himself from California.
Ive told him not to as he wont find another one so easy.
matching numbers in the 15,000 range
UK registered,Mot , taxed and up and running.
Unrestored as seen
been down on right hand side with crash damage to headlamp rim, front and rear indicatore including bent stalks, exhaust damage
chainguard cut short at front.
runs well and engine which sounds OK had not been rebuilt?
Modern,new tyres.
wrong handlebars. clock pod missing due to crash.
front indicators and stalks, cheap imitation parts
Its a nice survivor just rough around the edges and also has the crash damage.

Is it ok around the headstock??..Maybe just the pics but the wheel looks pushed back?

It got through a recent MOT so im sure its OK. assume it is and its just the pictures
It has a new three branch rubber from the Airbox to the carbs and milage is 11,000 which is probabley genuine.

For me it's one of those bikes in the awful situation of needing too much done to be classed as a clean up and ride but too good to be classed as a total restoration project. It is worth somewhere between £4500 and £6500 depending on the buyers point of view as to rider or restoration.
If I was the seller I'd put it on ebay and see how it goes he might get a happy surprise

I would like to restore a H2 but it would need to be cheap as it just costs so much to do one properly.
As said before everyone new to the job seems to think that they are the one that can do one up on the cheap but you can't.
The only good thing about doing up a shitter is that you are essentially buying a restored bike on drip and paying for it a bit at a time..
The results do vary though!

It's hard to say without seeing it Malc..as you know it's the little things missing or damaged that can really add to the costs..rim codes etc..if I do get another I would need to make space as I am getting overrun again with my cars,bikes and now Joe's bikes as well!

It does have the correct rim codes.
its a scruffy survivor thts been dropped and damaged and has all the faults I have listed.
Its £4500 tops for me BUT it may make as much as £6500
I think it will make £5500??

A paint job and deep clean would make it look a different bike..that's what I would do if I was trying to sell..newbies usually get sucked in by spangly paint..

Then again ,some people will pay much more relatively for piles of crap than a decent o.t.r. bike, then spend stupid amounts to get it near to what they turned their noses up at originally. .

Never mind folk buying really nice original "survivor" bikes, and then completely restoring them, Unneccesarliy ruining a piece of nice originali equipment. How often do we forget these are 40 yr old mass produced piles that had a vrap finish on them new ?!!
