MOT
Finaly, my 400 is finished and it passed the MOT yesterday. Glee, after all the ignition and brake woes on the final furlong. Plan, tax today, ride tomorrow. Ahh, but i forgot, I need to involve the DVLA in this process. The bike is on sorn. Get online and start application. gets to where it checks mot and insurance and says a technical error has occurred with this application and cann0ot continue. Fek. I ring the number to do a key pad phone application. Voice says cannot continue, technical error. I search for a phone number that gets me to talk to a human and after a twenty minute disco and yaky da shit i talk to some miserable old hag. I will try and do it over the phone. Oh sorry, there is a technical error.
I say, I know there fekin is, what is it you wrinkled old bitch. Oh, its our fault, our system cant read if mot's are valid. Well why the hell cant there website say that. I say that i have the mot cert in my hand with the number and dealer name. no she says, we cant accept that. She advises me to go to a post office. I cant because they close before i can get to one so she tells me its best to leave it on sorn and bids me goodbye. What a useless bunch of tossers.

Re: MOT
Rog have pity on the poor old DVLA will you, I just rang them to find out where is the logbook I have been waiting for the last 7 weeks. Phone automated answered and told to ring back later to busy. We must be more tolerant of our overpaid, underworked jobsworth paper shufflers.

You wouldn't be saying that if they were English and based in London! I bet half of your relatives work there!

Still do call a " Spade a Spade" what`s changed for you Rick
mind you I still call dark brown "Nigger Brown" can`t see anything wrong with it.
Regarding DVLA I live about 20 miles away, when I rebuilt my H1a it took about 7 months to do, sourcing parts from all around the country and abroad but it took 5 months to get a Logbook and only then after making a formal complaint.

Re: MOT
I have a children's book called "Johnny Balloon Goes To America". It's about a barrage balloon that breaks loose during the war and float across the sea with his friend, a little boy. It belongs to my mother and was a prize from the "Farmers' Weekly". When the duo land in the US they meet two men "....one of them was a nigger. The nigger's name was Joe."
How things have changed.

15 Years ago I called at my Mums house and she had my sisters (Grandkids round) it was summer, they were sat out in the garden and she was reading a book to them . . .. "Little Black Sambo", I remember one of the first lines . . . Little black sambo, the Nigger boy"
.

.
I REALLY do wince at the fact that "Blacks" can sing about N*ggers all day long . . and call each other a N*gger , , and yet I cannot say the word . . . and the poor fuckers in the public eye just get shot down with a morter at the mere hint of the word
Keep One wheel down . . . . .
