Howdy Ya'll........Cheers Mates.........and Hello to the GOB's (Grumpy old Bastards)

I received my "Kawaski Triples Club" magazine today.........and low and behold........My purple H2B hybrid (mongrel maybe) is in there.........how cool is that.......I am truly honered

I had a H2B back in around 77 and had a few mods done to it.......did a lot of street racing on that thing, and dragged it a few times 11.17 et.......wanted one for a few years......screw it, time to go all in

I have spared no expense on this bike, done it all myself pretty much other than paint and machine work, the amount of tech support from all of guys has been phenomanal :wink: and hat's of to you for that.

I just got it out of the basement, 320 miles on the new motor, just put a Zeeltronic PCDI-30 (very cool system) and squished heads on it, some new chromed bits.......had it out about an hour ago doing some jetting and trying some new ignition maps.....she runs pretty damn good........finally got a warm day

I love reading the triple magazine.........you guys are hardcore and very inspiring ........that trip to Norway......meeting up with JP........sounds like a blast.......(the 1000 mile's sound kind of tough though on an H2.......I did 760 in one day when I was 19)

I like the Storry of the Lady that is "Losing her Husband"...........and his comment is "Bike won't start, wonder why ?".......thats the truth

I wrote a post on how to install the Zeel........VM34's with UFO's and a few others......have any of you guys tried a Zeel yet

I have the Membership ID stuck on the refrigerator.......that way when I get a beer, I am looking right at it

(I hope I don't offend anybody, but there used to be joke in the US......How come the Brits drink warm beer ?.......Because Lucas could not keep a refrigerator working long enough to keep it cold .......I used to have a Hot Rod Jensen Healey and a Rare Jensen GT with the Lotus 907 engines, webers, etc.......I know about Lucas electrics)

True Story, My Jensen Gt had a nice burl wood dash, leather interior, stainless....very nice......had electric windows......hit the Lucas switch and the whole damned thing fell out in my hand in peices

You Guys are Great, always consider the Brits our best friends, have known many over the years

That's a real nice looking bike. Excel rims really suit these bikes. I like the slightly lower bars too, what are they off?

Thank You......The Excel Rim's are very nice, went as big as I could fit on the bike, everything is real close but fits. I had Bucanans in Los Angeles (I was born there) do the wheel's.......they had a spoke supplier from the UK making spokes, they went out of Business......Bucanans bought this big spoke machine and shipped it to LA.......they did some upgrades to it.......It's over 100 years old now and still running........It has probably made a lot of spokes in it's day

Due to the wide Rim's, and Excel pattern, they had to make custom spokes.......polshed SS and drill them at a weird angle

Just got thru installing a NOS H1 throttle cable, also use an H1 bail on the pump (as it has a larger circumfrence).........all due to VM34 carbs.....the H1 cable is longer on the slide leads by 3 or 4mm.......had to tap with 6mm for the pump adjuster........works perfect.......been hassling with the old stock H2 cable....modded it by cutting some winding off at the union, glad it's gone

I have been working on Jetting, the VM34's with UFO's are different, squish heads and mild porting......I like them, they work well.........Got my UK Ram Air Filters on it.......been trying some different Zeel Map's.......that thing will give your modded bikes a boost !, run up to 27 degress advance at 3000.....then back it down.......I have tried 5 different Maps, as expected with different results......need to put a switch on the Bars for MAP1 cruising....MAP2 for performance

I have been thinking about a new set of Chambers, the Fast By Gast Hydroformed chambers put out good power at 9000 rpms (see Jorgens Dyno charts).....they are short and skinny......want something with a bit more mid-range tourqe, street pipes........I like the K2Tek but don't care for the crossover much.......Jolly Motos are probably a bit much for my bike......the JL look pretty good, little funny with the cans.......really like the Higgspeed standard with the upsweep........have any of you guys tried the Higgspeed GP pipes yet, they look a bit different than the standard ones (longer maybe)

Was downtown Dayton riding a bit ago....some guy on a Ninja bike (not a big one, maybe a 600) kept giving me a hard time and wanting to drag race (in downtown ).......I rolled it on and got a nice big power wheelie and jumped him hard .......he gave me a thumbs up and left me alone

Just gave it a bath and some wax.....she is ready for the Debutant Ball

That's why I had to modify the bike to get some more HP.....so I could get a power wheelie still

Your right Phil, you're just a big guy, not fat.....fat is sloppy so you're good to go! Yeah, I finally got around to keeping my promise to Malc last year to join over here. I've been following your rebuild and glad that you got your hybrid squared away in time to bring it out to Mid-Ohio again this year. All in all, how much strong is it now than what it was before it fragged itself?


Last year at Mid-Ohio we had the US brain-trust in action.....with Phil and Jim(Darth) & yours truly. We all attacked Ricks(N2Trips) H1 which took 20-30 kicks to start....I tackled the ignition and Phil and Jim cleaned and reset the carbs, then balanced them using Jims method(which I'll vouch for). When we were done, it was a 1-2 kick starting bike, then we each took turns riding it and it ran pretty darn nicely. Even my girlfriend Kerry took her first solo on a triple!! Success all around!

I think the Camera added at least 5 LBS........at least thats the excuse for the TV personalities

The Bike runs real strong now......still trying some different Zeeltronic Maps......that thing is a game changer.......I have it going to 27 at 3200 RPM and down to 16 at 9000 RPM......seems like better all over.....the squish heads seemed to give it a boost.......especially up high, Moo set them for 150 PSI, they were at 154 stock (my cylinders were decked already hence the 154).........the undercut transmission is slick as butter.....and the 15 plate does not slip.....it's a good balance and not too radical.....very pleased
