To Goop or Not To Goop that is the question !!!!!!

Hi Gents ...Getting Close to getting back on the road . Bike running on inner tubes ( & Tyres !! ) as i'm 54 and trying to reach 55
i am thinking of all ways to make myself safer when taking to two wheels again . Has anyone used "Goop " puncture prevention or
as anyone used a similar product ?? i have done a small amount of research and it can be put directly into the inner tube ..A bit of Feedback would be great if any of you could find the time to answer ...THANKS

I wouldn't be too keen on riding around on tubes that have been punctured and repaired without you knowing. Ok for a get you home repair but what about when you are flat out and the tube is potentially full of holes?

get your point Tony but just been driving on four wheels for a very long time and just thought that if you did pick up a puncture while out riding i would be in a better position with keeping the bike under control and of course i would always check the Bike & tires over before venturing out ..it's only going to be High Days and Holidays usage to be honest ...

How often do you get a punctures ? Really ?

Even when I was riding every day I doubt I picked one up more than. Once a year. given the low mileages we all do now , it's very very low chance. And then you just get your AA card out !!

If you're worried about safety, are you going to be wearing full leathers and a reflective vest as well ?

Cagoule , jeans and trainers mate. And no waterproofs !!!! Live it on the EDGE !! WAhooooooo!!!!!!

OK maybe it's been updated, but when it 1st came out and the sales rep came to demonstrate it in a bike shop I worked at, it didn't
He turned up with a tyre on a rim and told us to drive a panel pin into the tyre
We did, we pulled the pin out and the tyre stayed inflated....

Only problem was we couldn't find where the pin had gone into the tyre (after he had spun the tyre on a stand he had it on)

So in theory you could be riding round with a hole in your tyre and not know about it


I personally wouldn't waste my money

PS when was the last time you got a puncture?

just have a front tube, a rear tube, tyre tools, an air pump and it will be ok (just in case)
