Stand theme

Post by S2Gerald »

I presume the motive is the cash prize so we should aim the good ideas at the show with the most cash perhaps? We certainly need to keep the building budget low, but you'd know all about that . Personally I prefer the fact we have lots of bikes rather than wasting space on , er......, large sheds (no disrespect intended to you know who!), so any theme would have to be considered for the space it takes up. I'm not knocking the idea though, especially as you are offering to build it!

The drag strip is a good idea and definitely a Triples Club sort of theme. Assuming we'll be in the foyer again at Donington, you'd need a strip of black stuff plus representative lights and clock with a bike at the start. As to where to put the other bikes, these could be "queued" behind barriers, so we'd end up with the bikes snaking back and forth across the stand to maximise use of the space. The table could double as the start line/gate? I might sketch something out unless you already have something in mind Malc.

Now you are talking Malc - All we need is a Jukebox stocked with Seventies Records - Suzy Quatro - 48 Crash etc etc

Jukebox is a cracking idea, stacked with plenty of 70's singles. It wouldn't take up too much space either and we could sort a theme out that could fit close to a wall, still leaving room for plenaty of bikes.

I still like the fact that we have a lot of bikes so it would be a shame to impact this for the sake of a theme.
