Up jetting

Evening gents
My H2C is in mid winter strip down and I am fitting a new set of higgspeeds which Higgsey tells me can run with the standard air box and standard jetting with maybe raising th needle one notch.Unfortunately on removal of my standard air box I've found it needs some serious repairs if it can be saved, so I thought about running the old girl with pod filters while I sort out the air box.
Can anyone advise me where I need to start with rejetting please

You should jet/adjust it to run properly.. you already have your starting point (fitted) so are likely to be going towards the richer side from there, however if you think you must fiddle, then look here.

Lucky7, at the moment i have 34mm carbs on my h2b , but when i did have std carbs 30 mm's and pods, i found going up one size on the main jet one or two sizes is best , but be careful from experience , running pods lets in lots more air, and if held flat out for any considerable time will cause a holed piston / seizure , i know its happened to me ! The bigger 34mm's are more suited for high speed with pod's !

Hi Chris many thanks for your advice, do you think I should maybe stick to the standard air box I can't imagine I would be going flat out for a long period of time, not with the roads round my way

My h2c which is stock other than higgspeeds runs 105 mains , 35 pilots & stock airbox with no foam .. Does'nt surge at the bottom end either .. Cant remember what clip i'm on but think its second from top , so with pods you would want to go bigger .. If i did'nt have a good airbox i would use the 3/1 rubber manifold & get a large ram air foamie to fit

Yes, i would stick std air box, it gives better drive than using pods, all that turbulent air is not good for torque , i always use an airbox when i can , even for drag racing !

They will give you a massive jetting headache
Unifilters or a big K and N attached to the standard 3 into 1 airbox rubber
