Fouling kick-start

Post by Bic_Bicknell »

I've been having a problem with my kickstart lever hitting the silencers and, since I fitted the rear-sets, the end of the footrest. This has resulted in the lever getting bent and yesterday it got so bad that my foot just slips off the end of the rubber.

I started looking for replacement levers and exploring which other models have a lever with slightly different shape (I believe a KZ750 kick-start offers a solution). But then I thought I'd have a go at just reversing the problem so bought a metre of steel pipe and teamed up with a road drain. Problem solved! Not sure if it will start to bend again but at least I know there's a quick and handy solution.
