2021 NW Rally - Update

Post by Triple Parts »

It looks like the target for vaccinating over 50’s is May and if the current rate of vaccinations continues, theoretically the whole population could be vaccinated by the end of June.

However, that does not factor in second doses and the fact that although the Government have ordered enough, we still have to receive them. The EU may have something to say about that! Realistically it will probably be Autumn before everyone is fully immunised and things start getting back to normal.

What is clear is that the normal NW Rally date in May is highly unlikely to go ahead, and we are unable to plan anything until the Government announces that events can take place.

We have provisionally pencilled in the Summer Bank holiday weekend 27-29th August 2021, however in the current climate this is subject to change, so please do not book any non-refundable hotels etc. Updates will follow when available.

cheers,
Dave, Simon & Tony

As you correctly say Tony it will very much depend on what the gov't allow and the rate of vaccination.

I for one would consider attending a rally in August (why not) but others may not feel so secure and I totally understand that

Time will tell I guess, although you will, at some stage, obviously have to make some commitment to the Rugby Club

My thoughts are if most people have had their second jab, then it will be safe to go ahead.

Whatever weekend you choose there 's bound to be something else.. Everyone is now straining at the leash to book their missing events before Summer runs out..

If you count the weekends there aren't many to go at..

Sorry Al, but we have to pick a date and learnt a long time ago that we can't please everyone, so we just do what is best for the rally. Our normal date in May falls between NW200 and TT practice week and is usually a BSB weekend, someone always complains that it doesn't work for them. This date works well for us as it is a bank holiday weekend, like our May date.

There is no guarantee that the Manx will go ahead. A final decision on whether it will take place will be made in March and my feeling is that they won't chance it and cancel, like they have done with the TT. I hope that I am wrong.

Even if she got these two doses and me too, am very careful
To say nothing about father and mother in law of my lovely girl who are 91 and 86 years old and two doses too.
Don't go outside this year excepted Monaco for work.
My daughter is living in Bruxel, Belguium, haven't see her since 2019.

The trophy has been safely delivered to the vicar, and is now in his capable hands.

Let's hope he doesn't ebay it before the rally :D

Thanks Ali
