Not the best day

Post by scouse »

On the hard shoulder of the M62 waiting for recovery
It had a slight loss in power, so I whipped the clutch in
It turns over but won't start, it will be interesting to see which piston has melted

Bugger! It's finding the reason that's crucial. Any ideas?

Not good Gary, but at least you caught it in time. A full seize in the middle of a busy M62 could have been, erm, interesting?

Got in at 10.30 last night
A quick strip down this morning shows the centre big end had gone, bores look fine so a crank rebuild is on the cards

I've been in the 3rd lane sometimes thinking " if this seizes how do I get it across 3 lanes"
Glad you're fine, and the bike doesn't sound too bad.

I had a Rod go on my Ariel 350 when I was 17 in the outside Lane doing over 70. Bike was very tuned up with an MGA piston which took the compression ratio to god knows what. Was styled like a flat track bike with BSA tank and Honda 750 seat…
Managed to get to the shoulder ok . Had a pillion on as well …. She had no idea what could have happened… 😳
