Kh400 oil pump bleed.

Post by Mike 1958 »

:smt039 Hi all , just wondering whatโ€™s the best way to bleed the oil pump after a complete engine rebuild. Does the oil need to be in the lines and feed the bearings etc before first start up.
New territory for me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Mike ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ๏ธ Thumbs Up

Just start her up and hold the Pump Cam wide open until you're sure that the oil has reached the engine.

Or if you're really worried, lift the Pump off the Bike and spin it with a drill (with the Cam wide open).

Hi WOLFIE, cheers for the advice. Will start the engine and hold it open wide.
Just found the oil inlet pipe threads are stripped. I will helicoil it back tomorrow.

There's your chance to spin the Pump with a drill afterwards then..
