JB Gears in Wetherby make all mine. Steel or Alloy, to whatever spec you like.

was a era Denco upgrade kit a 520 conversion' with one tooth less on the back,
whats the approx cost Gray to have a couple of sprockets made up?,

its a great way for some cheap power BUT they wont last long even with regular maintenance...I fitted bsa bantam chain/sprockets to a velocette i raced and got 2hp...All pukka race bikes have the absolute minimum pitch chain sprockets....

I had three done last time, 2 rear and one front, all in steel cost £75.

Alloy is cheaper, I think about a tenner less for a rear one. (mind you this was about 18 months ago).

yep 520 is a bit punni for this beast a tuned harry barlow h2 motor in a moded lc frame spoked wheels ect it is a mate of mine who is building it cant wait for a thrash

dont think i'd put a smaller front on with only a 520,..on a tuned motor,

i have a 49t rear on mine instead of stock 47, hence the £100 xring as non standard links,

Opened a H2b up yesterday which had a 12t on the front!!

Makes the chain almost go round a right angle.

not at all, I'm 520 o ring on my H2A no troubles and done for exemple 1000 kilometers a day at 7000 7500 on the german highways: perfect.
And anyway 530 o ring doesn't work: touch the clutch actuator

I'm also 16 front, have even try 15 with not o ring chain, still touched and same on my H2B, but my 69 H1 is 530 O ring: no trouble :!:

Is it putting out more than a GP bike Keith?

If you google "the truth about chains" there is a lot of rubbish talked about chains, mainly by suppliers. Look at the tensile strengths and why GP bikes use 520 chains.

Strength is not an issue, but as Ade says, it will just wear a bit quicker, so if you can live with that its not a problem. Also, if you are looking for every small gain, a non o-ring chain will save a bit of friction/transmission loss. But again, more maintenance and wear (dirt gets inside the rollers and forms a nice grinding paste).

all i need to say is
520 chain is good enough for moto gp bikes ,and some of my dragbikes have had it on

its all down to the qaulity of the chain
