this was taken on the day I uncrted my newly imported bike, January 2005 . . .

I went on to complete its restoration this month, including registration, and a little blast out to the Pioneer run from Epsom Downs last sunday . . .

Fantastic job! Your H2 is a stunning restoration and shows the care and time you put in. Leave the allen bolts because they are way more user friendly......when you sell it to a museum they can replace them with the plated JIS screws made of cheese.

Thanks for some nice comments, the bolts and screws will be staying, that was one of the first things I changed in the seventies, for practicality, so we'll put it down as a 'Period Mod' ?

allen bolts are very good, keep the original fucking bolts until you have a trouble on the road, then you think why haven't fit allen bolts

The genuine japanese screws are almost as strong as an allen bolt, you have to remember 2 things, 1, when we were trying to undo the feckers back in the 70's they had been ridden in the winter salt and were corroded in, 2, and more importantly, back then we were numbskulls that were using dads "posidrive" screwdriver to undo a specific style of Japanese screw, nowadays the correct screwdriver blade is available and has almost as much contact area as a allen bolt and as such they are a piece of pi$$ to undo

1. Restore H2 to lovely immaculate condition
2. Any other domestic stuff - like fences...
