Faulty rev counter

Post by Graham@York »

My rev counter gets to about 5000 rpm and won't go any higher, the engine is building up revs but the rev counter doesn't go any higher,
Any ideas what it could be.
Cheers Graham

That's got to be the clock itself..

The damping grease hardens with age, a restoration sounds to be on the cards.

Pop some oil on the cable drive boss and cable tread shaft, work it in with a drill with an old cable end.

Mine loosned up just fine, still flaps around a bit but then revs just fine

Just like some girls I know, err, sorry I was told about
You put the fuel in here, Oil there, start the engine, Hay presto, its gone. That's Triple's for you

Is there a 'back door' into 'Rick's Refurb Meter Services...' :smt102

I've tried via RB's forum to get details for a repair but got no reply.

I've got an 'as new' H2A Speedo that needs a new trip knob... don't ask :smt021

My point exactly......

You said Rick does them - well I bet he doesn't, unless he fixes them on long haul flights to stop getting bored. Presumably someone in his operation does them, and not being in the inner sanctum - as it were - I don't know the code for the back door
