Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
That's a great idea James, I love the poster idea although time is of the essence at the moment.
We could have a 'nail' on display to show what can be resurrected.
I think its great that there are so many people willing to travel vast distances for the show and the club.
There are a lot more people who have no input.
I will put my hand up and say I have done relatively nothing for this great club of ours, that is why I stood up for this.
We do still need an events secretary for the club if anyone is up for it, perhaps it could be a joint position held by three people ???

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
We will do that the club decide it is the best for the show.
But we need Allo Allo, me and Tartan I presume, to know promptly if we need to book the shuttle /or the ferry and the two days off around the week end.
So can you fix us.
should I stay or should I go

Well I think it would be a good gesture if the club paid JP`s and perhaps others expenses to travel to the show( whichever way they want to) and their hotel bill. Without JP`s initial offer there was a good possibility there would not have been a stand this year.

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
Thanks but we can afford this but that we need promply to know is do you want we come witn our old wreck riding triples which aren't concours state or not. If you say no , no trouble at all as you must decide what is the best for the club. But answer to the question cause we need to book ferry/ or shuttle and manage the 2 days off around saturday and sunday

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
contribution towards members costs is something that we should most definitely do, the club can afford it and it would help towards costs incurred when travelling to, and transporting bikes to some of the more distant events/rallies..
This is a policy that has been implemented by the VJMC for some years
It doesnt mean that substantial sums need to be paid out but some contribution towards costs would definitely encourage members to travel and therefore help to promote the KTC.

That's all well and good but JP needs an answer to his question.
From what I have read the decision has been made to use show bikes only - unless Malc says differently, I would consider this to be the situation.
Malc?

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
Mal has PM me and the club will be use show bikes only. This is a good new cause it means that the club stand will be the one expected by the public. So hope plenty of newcomers will become club members.
So won't be there and will see you UK guys only next year
And now I can go to the Alsace rally at the end of this month cause couldn't if I was going at Stafford

The issue/suggestion of cost contributions still remains open for discussion, I accept that it might benefit from being discussed on a separate thread

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
When I said the club should offer to pay for JP and others to attend the rally I was well aware that his bikes and others were no longer needed but because JP`s initial offer could have been the saving grace for the stand I thought the gesture to pay expenses and accommodation for them to attend the show should be made. JP I`m sure we are all aware that money is no object but a show of appreciation for your offer could have been made.

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
Just checked back in on this thread.
Ah well. good that the Stand is safe for this year. personally disappointed that it wills not be a RealcWorld Bike display.
Understand the caution of being so different from "other Clubs" stands. Conformity is safe .
I'm sure I am in the minority in this Club nowadays. But I really think we would have been well ahead of the curve introducing non-show bikes. On to a Club stand. I
This will happen in the near future. Unrestored / original bikes , warts and all Will become the new cool.
but, well done to Malc for stepping up.bAnd also a BIG Well Done to JP and Allo Allo for preparing to go the extra Kilometre !!!

Maybe a display of a restoration project, a usable 'oil rag ' bike and a couple of show winners would provide an interesting representation/cross section of club members activities
Maybe that would satisfy the majority of club members wishes .................well maybe

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
I am putting together some show bikes for Stafford
I also have Malc Anderson bringing the Rusty H2 that he has.
I like the ideas of Club members having before and After posters that can be shown on the stand, I think it was James that suggested that.

Re: STAFFORD 0CTOBER 2016
Folks, at this moment am having a meeting with Malc Wildeman at my place trying to sort Stafford. We have six bikes, maybe seven. Do any other club members want to show a nice clean stock or special. In return you get a vehicle pass and two people passes for the weekend. PM or call me or Malc please.
if you wish to quote me, that's fine. But please use the quote button provided, not a variation of my words.
