HI Malcom it's been about 10 years since I seen you last when I was having trouble with my blue H2.

Well I've just been paid off (again) so should get the gears sorted then it's MOT and get it registered, how do I do that anyone

if you bought it off rick you will have all the paper work yu need

1st of all get it insured ans moted
(both on the frame number , I rode both my H1f and my 69 hi to the mot station with no numberplate, you could get done for not displaying a number plate, but it is totally leage for you to ride to the mot station

then fill in the new new registration form, take that with some photo id and a bank statement, mot and insurance document down to the local dvla office
they will extract some money out of you and your will receive your tax disc and a piece of paper with your reg number on it through the post in the a few days

they used to issue the reg on the day but due to staff cut backs you now have to wait a few days as they go and do the paperwork in a quiet period

a week or so later your v5 will turn up

Steve Smethurst did the heads and barrels on my H1B not cheap but a superb job

I've heard people say he can be an awkward sod, but I've always found him very helpfull.

I have used steve smethurst and to be honest you can get the same job done for much less else where.He is a decent bloke though,he just doesn't suffer fools

Simon lister and myself have used a guy in skelmersdale and he does a top notch job and can turn it around the same day.Just remember you cant polish a turd.If you give even smethurst some corroded oily crap it will just come back shiny corroded crap...

Thanks for the advice scouse, I thought it was a bit more complicated thought I had to get someone from the KTC to verify that is what is supposed to be.

Hurrah

. Finally got round to finishing the bike. It sailed through it's MOT apart from I lost the clutch on the way as I hadn't tightened the arm up on the actuator enough so it moved and the clutch was dragging and I also have an issue with an oil leak from the clutch side cover even though used a impact driver to nip the screws up which I think is unusual I'll try a new gasket.
Been to the local DVLA to hand the forms in for registration and girl behind the counter said the tax will have to be as a 'normal' motorcycle not a historic one as I can't prove old it is, but it's 73 therefore not tax exempt I would a bit more concerned if it was supossed to tax exempt.
Here is a photo of it finished I promise this the last one

I need put the 750 badges on.

Rick supplied me with new selector shaft and new output shaft all I had to do was shim it. The reason why I couldn't get any gears when I first put it together was when I took motor apart some of the locating pins had been pushed in (not by me) so I had to drill them out and epoxy them in. However one of them I didn't put in far enough and it was catching on the inside of the bearing but my big hammer sorted that out.
